Can you make your dreams come true by only writing your dreams on paper?

A book on self-improvement often tells that you can make your dreams come true if you write your dreams on paper. Is this true? This is the today's theme.

Why can you arrive at the destination of your trip?

Life is often compared to a trip. Dreams or goals of life is equivalent to the destination of a trip. I want you to call your past trip to mind. Why could you arrive at the destination of your trip? I think that is because you could prepare for the trip well. To put it concretely, that is because
1.You could create a plan to reach the destination.
2.You could carry out the plan.
Then, why could you do above two things successfully? That is because you have enough information of the destination.

First, as for #1, the more clearly you imagine the destination, the more exactly you can prepare for the trip. For example, I went on a trip to Hokkaido in Japan in this August. If you know nothing about the destination except for the name 'Hokkaido', you can not even decide the airport. (There are a lot of airports in Hokkaido.) However, If the destination of your trip is the eastern part of Hokkaido, you can narrow the airport to Tokachi-Obihiro airport, Kushiro airport or Nakashibetsu airport. And, if the destination is Kushiro-shitsugen National Park, you can decide that the airport is Kushiro airport and also decide where to rent a car and where to stay and so on.

Next, as for #2, you take a lot of trouble with preparing for the trip originally, for example, arranging transportation like an airplane, a bus and a taxi and packaging clothes, foods and so on. If there is a missing article , you need to buy that. Of course, it costs money. You may not have enough time for business on weekdays. It's very important that you maintain motivation that 'I want to get to the destination!' to complete preparing. And the motivation come out of the clear image of the destination. For example, even if you are shown the map of Hokkaido, I guess you don't be motivated to go to Hokkaido probably. However, if you are shown the beautiful landscape photography of Hokkaido like the photo at the top of this article, I'm sure that you want to go to Hokkaido. So, you can enjoy handling troublesome tasks because you have a mind to get to the destination.

In short, the reason why you can reach the destination of your trip is because you have clear and specific images of the destination originally.

Can you make your dreams come true by only writing your dreams on paper?

The same goes for dreams or goals of life. Speaking of the scope that you can control, the reason why you can make your dreams come true is because:
1.You can create a plan to realize your dream.
2.You can carry out the plan.
And you can do above two things because of the clear and specific images for your dream or goal originally. Your brain automatically begins to gather necessary information to realize your dream and you can plan tasks accurately by imaging the scenery you will see when you realize your dream and feelings when you see the scenery. And you can make an arrangement with the high motivation even if that is very difficult for you in the same way as you create a plan of a pleasant trip.

Also, sometimes you have to get someone else involved in realizing your dream. And then, whether you can get someone's support is due to whether you can convey the scene when you realize your dream and appeal to someone else. That's why you have to have the clear and specific image of your dream to the level that you are highly motivated in yourself.

So I think the idea that you can make your dreams come true by only writing your dreams on paper is not accurate. To be accurate, I think the idea that you can make your dreams come true if you can imagine your dreams vividly to the level that you want to realize your dreams from the bottom of your heart is correct.

Let's imagine your dream vividly with Dreamscope!

Dreamscope is developed on the basis of the above way of thinking. Dreamscope has two views, which are the goal view and the task view. In the above example of the trip to Hokkaido, you create the image of Hokkaido in the goal view and plan the trip in the task view.

Most task management apps have folders or workspaces to only organize tasks, however these are not for creating goals. On the other hand, Dreamscope has the goal view as the dedicated view to create goals and you can edit various information of a goal such as descriptions, due date, values, photos, music ,movies and so on in the goal view. We recommend adding the media information such as photos, music, movies to your goals and you can see your goals visually and chronologically in the timeline view. You can create goals to the level that you are highly motivated by using these features and make significant strides toward achieving your goals.
